The material we use to renovate pipes is a polyester-based plastic. Products have been made of polyester since the 50s and is common in products like leisure boats, small vessels, bodies of sports cars, blades for wind power plants and much more. Polyester plastic has good resistance against solvents and acids.
What is special about the plastic that Proline Group uses to reline pipes with is that it is styrene free and reinforced with glass flakes which makes the renovation strong and with high durability against mechanic wear. The advantage of using styrene-free plastic is that it emits far less odour than styrene-based polyester, which is an absolute requirement for use inside apartments. This polyester also has a lot of good corrosion-protecting properties. The same material is used on oil platforms as excellent corrosion and wear protection.
